A Picture tells a 1000 words.

When you see this picture, do not think it is just another random photo that does not hold any meaning. I might not be making any sense at the moment right now, but just observe this picture, and just think of something that makes sense to General Paper. After 5seconds of observation, i have came to a decision to show my ability to talk nonsense.

This picture seems to depict something related to the recent Virginia Tech Shooting, where South Korean born Seung-Hui Cho, who was a U.S. Permant Resident, shot dead 32 victims and injuring 29 others before commiting suicide, making this incident the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

Linking back to the photo:
The tree sought of resembles Virginia Tech, the medium in which education is provided to the students. The tree trunk would then develope into many branches, each representing the students of the school. As the time passes, the tree continues to grow, the branches further stretch up towards the sky with many twigs. It's like them slowly playing a bigger role in society, reaching for their goals. However, when the bitter cold of winter comes, the leaves drop, some branches wither n drop, while the rest remain naked to the atmosphere. It is like even one factor (in this case, Cho) could affect the whole Virginia Tech, either killing people, destroying their future, or leave a psychological fear in those who survive.

Overall, i conclude that i just went totally off point in that paragraph.

However, on a serious note, i wonder what factors could have resulted in Cho's violent acts. Is society around him? Is it the American's Law being to relaxed? Is it just a small mistake in his genetic material where there is a wrong nitrogenous base pair? To a certain extend, i believe it his own aestistic character that drove him to do such things. In addition, the relax American Law had also aided him in his quest, allowing him to purchase the firearms, which were the murder weapons.

However, i believe the main reason is the influence around him. When I closely observated the pictures he took of himself holding the weapons, for a moment, i thought he was staring in an action movie.

Look at the similarities in the way he poses? I believe the violence that have been displayed on media have influenced certain people. Viewers who are not in the right state of mind might imitate what is shown on the media, pretending they are rambo, thinking they can simply kill anybody. With the media continuously showing such violent films, people we get influenced! And for Virginia Tech's case, Cho did, which resulted in a massarce.

Okay. i posted 3 pictures and typed so much words. It's already 12:14am. I want to go sleep. In a quick conclusion, we cant simply blame Cho for destroying so many people's life, but also society around, as society plays a large role in molding a person in his future.

This post is assignment 1 of Anderson Junior College General Paper - Self Introduction:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hyperactive, energetic, outgoing, crazy, funny, just to name a few that would give a basic outline of my personality. My name is Jun Yang; I am just about your average 16 year-old Singaporean teenager who have just enrolled into the new level of education, Junior College.

I was previously from Catholic High School, both Primary and Secondary, from which you can infer that I have been placed in an education system where I could only see male-counterparts for the past 10 years. At that time, I was in the choir since Primary 2 to Secondary 4, only having 2 years of break in Primary 5 and 6.

During my Secondary school time, I spent most of time in aesthetics. Along with the choir, we participated and won in various competitions, both locally and internationally.

I consider myself as a person who is more involved with music rather than sport. Sadly, I do not have any official certificate which would certify as a musician as I self-taught both the piano and the guitar. Furthermore, I took a step further by learning beat boxing (imitating sound from percussions, using the mouth) from the Internet.

Now after 10 years of imprisonment in a single-sexed and short pants environment, this year was the first time I studied in a co-ed environment, in long pants! I guess I came mentally prepared, so I was able to diffuse into the new system easily.

I am back into the CCA, choir, and singing as a Tenor 1. I guess my passion for singing overwrote other interests such as photography and dancing.

Did I state that I was about your average Singaporean teenager? That statement is only true to a certain extent as I do get hooked onto computer games like most other teenagers. Although my interest lie mainly in music, I do involve myself in various sports such as badminton, skateboarding, and Le Parkour (Freestyle running).

Lastly, I would like to conclude this assignment by saying that I do NOT know who I aspire to be in the future. All I know is that I want to change people’s lives (for the better of course).

Also, I believe this GP blog system is a very unique kind of homework (which is somehow enjoyable) for students. Hope you enjoyed reading!

Hello dear readers of this blog. I believe you are wondering about why this extra blog was created. This blog was created solely for the purpose to cater to the demands of the AJC General Paper Department, which also leads to the point that the existance of this blog is for the subject General Paper at Junior College level.

So be disappointed, for I am going to discuss things related to General Paper, ranging from world issues to even political debates within singapore. Furthermore, it would be (hopefully) in proper and accurate english. Therefore, do not put in too much hope that there would be photos from my camera in this blog's post.

For your information, this post is not the first assignment given to me, which requires students to give a 200word introduction about themselves. Rather, this post is for testing whether the HyperText Markup Language (html, in short) entered into the section of "template" is interpretable by the system of blogger and internet browsers.

Since I can see this post showing, it proves that the template right. :D
